Charlie volunteers with Maine Equal Justice Partners, currently serving on its Executive, Finance, and Strategic Planning Committees, and previously as Board President.  He received the organization’s annual Pro Bono Equal Justice Hero Award in 2016.  He is also a member of the Board and chairs the Legislative Committee of the Justice Action Group, a judicially-led organization promoting equal access to civil legal representation in Maine.

Charlie’s current political activity includes chairing the Finance Committee and serving on the Executive Committee of the Maine Democratic Party.  He has served in the past on his local school board, has been a candidate for the Legislature, and regularly moderates the annual Town Meeting in his community.

Dingman grew up in Turner and has lived in Leeds since 1979.  He and his late wife Jane raised their 5 children there and were active members of the Leeds Community Church.  Charlie enjoys spending free time with his children and grandchildren.  He is also an avid amateur photographer and hiker, having summited all of the “4000-footers” in New England, including winter ascents of all 48 high peaks in the White Mountains.  He also really likes to write and talk about politics, economics, and law. Through this blog, he hopes to share with you some of his thoughts about those subjects, and how they connect to our daily joys and struggles, and to the highest values of humanity.
